Throw Your Diet Out the Window and WORK OUT!

If your goal is to lose weight, improve your overall fitness, and feel better about your body and your health, than forget counting calories and diets that are impossible to maintain. Throw your diet out the window and work out instead!

Remember that the secret to weight loss is arithmetic. If you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. If you consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. So, instead of limiting your diet, denying yourself the simple pleasures that you are used to, and then ultimately cheating your diet and failing, go out for a run, walk, jog, or hit the gym for an hour. You can eat without feeling guilty, if you know that you are exercising. BUT, don’t cheat yourself either. Lying to yourself about how much you has eaten and how much you have burned at the gym won’t help you lose weight. Being honest with yourself, eating in moderation, and sticking to a regular exercise routine should do the trick.

Here are a few exercise and moderate eating tricks that should help you get started:

  1. Set realistic exercise goals. Do not go out for a 5 mile run if you have never run before in your life. When you first start exercising you will need to build up your strength, endurance, and stamina. But, the good news is that as your body becomes more used to exercising, you will need to increase the intensity of your workouts accordingly, so even if you can only run for 5 minutes, your body is working just as hard as a seasoned runner who runs for 50 minutes.
  2. Be aware of what you eat. If you decide to treat yourself to something unhealthy, that’s ok. In fact it’s great. As long as you limit yourself to one treat a day and eat healthy, nutritious food the rest of the day, diet pills, you can lose weight without feeling deprived.
  3. Remember that feeling fit and healthy is a great feeling that lasts and lasts, whereas eating foods full of fat and empty calories will only satisfy you for a few minutes.
