5 Ways to Workout with Your Kids

It’s important to get a good workout in, to tone muscles, lose weight, and melt stress away. But sometimes it can be running-childrenhard to find the time to get it all done. Especially when you factor in work, errands, and chauffeuring your kids from one activity to the next. And then whatever free time you do somehow manage to scrounge up, you probably want to spend hanging out with your family.

Well here are ten ways you can work out and spend time with the kids, without sacrificing your exercise routine or your quality time with the family. Also, you get the added benefit of encouraging kids that an active lifestyle is a healthy lifestyle.

1.    Hit the gym…together. There are some gyms that will allow young kids in, if they’re accompanied by a parent. It could be fun to run on side-by-side treadmills with your kid or join an exercise class together. Look into sharing a personal trainer.
2.    Go hiking. Most people live at most 30 minutes away from woods or mountains without even realizing it. Short or long hikes can be a great way to work out and to bond with your child in nature.
3.    Play. If you have a little kid, get down on the floor and play. Throw your child up in the air for some laughs. Have a bigger kid? Go to the park and play tag or soccer.
4.    Become a little league coach. Organize a neighborhood league and run the sidelines as a referee.
5.    Ride bikes. All kids love riding their bikes, and if they’re with mom or dad, they’ll be able to go further that they’d be allowed otherwise. Better yet, pile the car up with bikes and go explore a new area together.

The best way to get exercise and to teach your kids a lesson or two about fitness is to turn off the TV and GO OUTSIDE! Your kids are too young for diet pills; teach them how to lose weight and stay fit naturally!
